  • Eggs: 4
  • Sugar: 150 g
  • Vanilla sugar: 1 sachet
  • Lemon: 1
  • Milk: 50 cl
  • Melted butter: 100 g
  • Flour: 110 g
  • Salt: 1 pinch
  • Egg white: 2
  • Sugar: 90 g

ย Preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 150 degrees.
  2. Heat the milk with lemon peel until lukewarm.
  3. Mix the egg yolks with sugar, vanilla sugar, and lemon juice until the mixture turns white. Add the melted butter to the mixture, then the flour and salt, and whisk.
  4. Add the milk with the peel and stir well.
  5. Stir the egg whites until stiff and gently work them into the preparation with a spatula. Gently mix with a whisk until the preparation becomes homogeneous.
  6. Gently pour the dough into a round mold about 25 cm in diameter, previously covered with baking paper.
  7. Bake for not more or less than 50 minutes. Otherwise, your cake may not hold together or the layer may disappear. Let the cake cool before taking it apart.
  8. For the meringues, beat the egg whites until stiff, then slowly add the sugar while continuing to whisk. Spread the meringue on top of the cake and brown it with a blowtorch. And for even more magic: sprinkle a few sugar stars!
